The Blue Jewel Inn located in Newport’s Historic Hill was recently sold and will soon be converted back into a single family home. The Inn is a Queen Anne Victorian built in 1898 by architect/builder JD Johnston, who is known for building many of the mansions on Newport’s Bellevue Avenue and Ocean Drive. This home retains many of its original Victorian features. The new owners will be renovating the entire interior and thus all of bath fixtures, cabinetry, lighting, fireplace surrounds, doors, stair railings, cast iron radiators as well as a partial inventory of the furnishings, window treatments etc. will be included in this sale.
We will conduct a preview on Thursday, Sept 26 from 4p -6p for those interested in obtaining measurements of house parts and fixture that they might like to purchase. NO purchases will be allowed at the preview..
We will have someone on Saturday to ASSIST YOU with breaking down items and moving them to your vehicle. We will also have most housing parts ready to be moved although lighting will need to be disconnected at the end of the day as it will be necessary for our use at the sale.
